Canoeing on Lake Calderwood

Not easy to reach and too narrow for water skiers...Lake Calderwood is a 7 mile long unspoiled gem. It is fed by the Little Tennessee River system and spans the border between North Carolina and Tennessee just south of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Interstate 3 has been proposed to run from Knoxville to Savannah. The route would bisect the lake and put gash through the Cherokee National Forest. They say it is needed in the name of national security. I think they just want to build property values in north Georgia and the Atlantic coast. Hopefully there are enough opponents.
