one of the alters

Multiple Personality Disorder is typified by a collection of personalities, each referred to as an alter; alternating or taking turns in making an appearance.

2 of the famous 3

The History Channel says we have the ancient Celts to thank for the celebration of Halloween (with Bonfire). What other time in the whole year is it possible to reconnect with our inner goblin but halloween? Rather than being the victim of monsters under the bed or in our head- in fun we dish out terror... we master those fears. Booooooo!!!

making sugar

My Grandmother was not fond of autumn. “Everything dies” Maybe she had a touch of seasonal affective disorder. (SAD) We are fortunate to be living in such a dynamic temperate zone. Thank the deciduous trees and falling temperatures. On warm, sunny days the leaves make sugar via photosynthesis. But cool nights trap the sugars in the leaf which build up, giving us the yearly display. The Crayola Crayon Company might feel inadequate when in East Tennessee. (No matter how big their box and exotic the names, such as Mango Tango, Sunset Orange, and Pink Flamingo”)

firelight whispers

In no particular hurry, the campfire has weaned down to a lazy flame. The trees are still. A sliver of moon glances down... a glowing node in a dark forest. Monotone murmurs waft about like shadow puppet in a slow dance .

Fly of ideas

If a fly lands in the forest – is it different from the city cousin?

She came to my campsite in the mountains. Waited patiently for photos. How was your trip? So many vectors …from all over the eastern US the campers come. Cars from Louisiana, Indiana, and Kentucky could have brought you. You probably hid pupa-style in the damp box of someone’s camping gear. Wide set eyes identify you as female. How does the air in the Great Smoky Mountains compare? Do you hope to hitch a ride to Knoxville? Is that why you have landed on the denim knee of my jeans? Your biological clock ticks in as few as 7 days. Is that why fly?
